At
our June Chapter Night, a certificate recognizing Gail Garrison’s efforts
as “2005-2006 Volunteer of the Year” was read on the floor (Gail had
surgery at this time and was not in attendance). She was chosen from among
the recipients of the “Volunteer of the Month” candidates for her
outstanding commitment and dedication for her many years as the WOTM
Wedding Coordinator. I would also like to congratulate our Second Ritual
Team for an excellent performance at this meeting.
At
last, we have installed all of our chapter development committee chairs.
Chairmen are as follows: Community Service, Jennifer Fuhrer; Education
Advancement, Peggy Foster; Health Awareness, Kaye Whitson; Membership, Sue
Spainhour; Moosehaven, Elaine Souders; Mooseheart, Pat Ball; Publicity,
Virginia Remington and Youth Involvement, Brenda LaRoche.
Every year our Health Awareness Committee awards a $1000 Scholarship to a
second-year Nursing Student. This scholarship is available to anyone who
meets the criteria and they do not have to be a member of the Moose
Fraternity. The Scholarship Award can be used toward tuition, fees and
books for either first or second semester terms and is not limited to
Brevard Community College. However, the Committee prefers to keep the
scholarship Award to a Brevard County Resident or Family member. If you
know of anyone who might qualify for this scholarship please contact the
Health Awareness Committee Chairman, Kaye Whitson, or any other WOTM Board
member, or just leave a message on the WOTM office telephone at 454-3744.
Applications will be available soon through BCC and the WOTM office. The
deadline for submitting an application is August 30.
Once
again I would like to thank all of you for your continued support in
furnishing pies and cakes for our bake sales. This helps each committee
earn hundreds of dollars as part of their fundraising efforts.
Fraternally,
Pat
Moore
