At the International Convention on May 27th we witnessed the 88th
Mooseheart High School Commencement at the Mooseheart Fieldhouse. Three of
the 22 graduates were sponsored by Florida Lodges. We also attended the
Parade of Our Newest Pilgrims. Congratulations to Bill Cressman for
achieving this high honor. Also congratulations to Jan Richardson who
received her College of Regents degree during this celebration.
During the period 1906-1913, James J. Davis built the Moose Fraternity
from 247 members to more than 400,000, lighting a torch which has
continued to burn for more than 100 years. We have recently weathered a
period of turbulence, reorganization and modernization. We have just
completed a “Light the Torch” Membership Campaign and our motivating theme
for this year is “Pass It On”.
Our Ritual Team worked very hard preparing for competition and though they
did not place as high as they would have liked our lodge was very well
represented by these ladies. Both ritual teams would like to express their
appreciation for all of the membership’s support for their fundraising
efforts this year.
Our WOTM Ladies pool team will be competing at the FBMA WOTM State 8 Ball
Tournament on July 8th and 9th at the Bradenton
Moose Lodge. We wish them good luck in bringing back cash payoffs as well
as trophies.
In August the WOTM will sponsor a Surf and Turf dinner in the Social
Quarters. Down the road will have our “ever-popular” Dinner Dances
starting with the Luau in September.
Fraternally,
Pat Moore
