The 2005
International Moose Convention in June in Las Vegas was a HUGE success for
chapter #1544 and our Lodge. For the first time we had two nominees for
the Shining Star Award. Cindy Kaufmann was chosen as the “International
Co-Worker of the Year” and Marcelle Wetherington placed 4th
internationally as Ritualist. There will be a special chapter meeting in
November to honor them both.
Our #1 ritual team
placed 17th in the nation in Las Vegas, with Helen DuBrock
placing 2nd as Chaplain and Jan Richardson placing 9th
as Junior Regent. Thanks to our ritual team who work hard to raise the
funds to compete and practice the ritual year-round.
The 2005-2006
theme is “Imagine the Possibilities” and with that theme in mind our
Membership chairman, Cindee Cullingford will administer a membership drive
which actually started on August 1st and will end on November
30th. Simple put, the more members that you sponsor, the more
chances you have to win prizes.
Our Community
Service chairman, Chris Murphy is collecting small containers of
toiletries for the homeless vets in Brevard County and you can deposit
your donations in the white basket in the Social Quarters. Her committee
is also making “bears in a blanket” for hospitalized and fostered children
and they are accepting donations towards this cause.
Upcoming events
sponsored by the WOTM Chapter #1544 are listed in this bulletin, and we
thank you for your continued support of our organization.
Fraternally, Sue
DeRosa
